[1270] On one occasion the Venerable Anuruddha was dwelling at Sāvatthī on the bank of the Sutanu. Then a number of bhikkhus approached the Venerable Anuruddha; having approached, they exchanged greetings with the Venerable Anuruddha, and when they had concluded their courteous and memorable talk, they sat down to one side. Sitting to one side, those bhikkhus said to the Venerable Anuruddha: "Through having developed and cultivated which dhammas has the Venerable Anuruddha attained to greatness of direct knowledge (mahābhiññā)?"
