[1285] On one occasion the Venerable Anuruddha was dwelling at Sāvatthī, in Jeta's Grove, Anāthapiṇḍika's Park. Then a number of bhikkhus approached the Venerable Anuruddha; having approached, they … with the Venerable Anuruddha … Sitting to one side, those bhikkhus said this to the Venerable Anuruddha: "Through having developed and cultivated which dhammas has the Venerable Anuruddha attained greatness of direct knowledge (mahābhiññatā)?"
