[1385] Ānanda, on whatever occasion a bhikkhu … contemplating impermanence … contemplating fading away … contemplating cessation … trains thus: 'Contemplating relinquishment, I shall breathe out'; trains thus: 'Contemplating relinquishment, I shall breathe in' — on that occasion, Ānanda, the bhikkhu dwells contemplating dhammas in dhammas, ardent, clearly comprehending, possessed of mindfulness, having removed covetousness and grief regarding the world. Having seen with wisdom that abandoning of covetousness and grief, he looks on closely with thorough equanimity. Therefore, Ānanda, on that occasion a bhikkhu dwells contemplating dhammas in dhammas, ardent, clearly comprehending, possessed of mindfulness, having removed covetousness and grief regarding the world.
