[1489] "Friend (āvuso), such immorality (dussīlya) as that, possessed of which an unlearned worldling (assutavā puthujjano), with the breakup of the body, after death, is reborn in a state of deprivation, a bad destination, a place of ruin, hell (apāya, duggati, vinipāta, niraya) — such immorality is not found in him [the noble disciple]. And, friend, such virtues dear to the noble ones (ariyakantāni sīlāni) as those, possessed of which a noble disciple (ariyasāvaka), with the breakup of the body, after death, is reborn in a good destination, a heavenly world — such virtues dear to the noble ones are found in him: unbroken … conducive to concentration (samādhi)."
