[237] The setting is Sāvatthī. "Bhikkhus, just as the river Gaṅgā slants toward the ocean, slopes toward the ocean, inclines toward the ocean, even so, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu developing the noble eightfold path (magga), making much of the noble eightfold path, slants toward Nibbāna, slopes toward Nibbāna, inclines toward Nibbāna."
