[254] "And how, bhikkhus, does a bhikkhu who is heedful (appamatta) develop the Noble Eightfold Path (ariya aṭṭhaṅgika magga), and make much of the Noble Eightfold Path? Here, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu develops right view (sammādiṭṭhi), which is dependent on seclusion (viveka), dependent on dispassion (virāga), dependent on cessation, maturing in relinquishment (vossagga) … he develops right concentration (sammāsamādhi), which is dependent on seclusion, dependent on dispassion, dependent on cessation, maturing in relinquishment. It is in this way, bhikkhus, that a bhikkhu who is heedful develops the Noble Eightfold Path and makes much of the Noble Eightfold Path."
