[903] Bhikkhus, when a noble disciple (ariyasāvaka) understands as it really is the origin, the passing away, the gratification, the danger, and the escape in regard to these six faculties (indriya), then, bhikkhus, this noble disciple is called a stream-enterer (sotāpanna), no longer subject to the states of deprivation, fixed in destiny, with full awakening (sambodhi) as his destination.
