**Naked ascetic (acelaka)** means: anyone who has entered upon the state of a wanderer and is naked.
**Male wanderer (paribbājaka)** means: anyone who has entered upon the state of a wanderer, excepting a bhikkhu and a novice (sāmaṇera).
**Female wanderer (paribbājikā)** means: any woman who has entered upon the state of a female wanderer, excepting a bhikkhunī, a female probationer (sikkhamānā), and a female novice (sāmaṇerī).
**Solid food (khādanīya)** means: excepting the five foods, water, and tooth-wood, the remainder is called solid food.
**Soft food (bhojanīya)** means: the five foods — cooked rice, sour gruel (kummāsa), barley-meal (sattu), fish, and meat.
