[513] "Whatever" means: whoever, of whatever sort … . "Bhikkhu" means: … this is the bhikkhu intended in this sense.
"Making a store (sannidhikāraka)" means: what is received today is eaten on another day.
"Eatables (khādanīya)" means: setting aside the five foods, what may be consumed within a watch (yāmakālika), what may be consumed within seven days (sattāhakālika), and what may be consumed for as long as life lasts (yāvajīvika), the remainder is called eatables.
"Foods (bhojanīya)" means: the five foods — boiled rice, junket (kummāsa), meal (sattu), fish, and meat.
If he accepts it, thinking, "I shall chew it, I shall eat it," there is an offense of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa). For every mouthful swallowed, there is an offense of expiation (pācittiya).
