[223] Bhikkhus, possessed of four qualities the fool, incompetent, an untrue person (asappurisa), maintains himself maimed and injured; he is blameworthy and subject to reproach by the wise, and he generates much demerit (apuñña). With which four? With bodily misconduct (kāyaduccarita), verbal misconduct (vacīduccarita), mental misconduct (manoduccarita), and ingratitude, unthankfulness (akataññutā akataveditā) … With good bodily conduct (kāyasucarita), good verbal conduct (vacīsucarita), good mental conduct (manosucarita), and gratitude, thankfulness (kataññutā kataveditā) …
