[56] Bhikkhus, these ten perceptions (saññā), when developed and cultivated, are of great fruit and great benefit, merging in the deathless (amata), culminating in the deathless. What are the ten? The perception of unattractiveness (asubhasaññā), the perception of death (maraṇasaññā), the perception of repulsiveness in food (āhāre paṭikkūlasaññā), the perception of non-delight in the entire world (sabbaloke anabhiratasaññā), the perception of impermanence (aniccasaññā), the perception of suffering (dukkha) in what is impermanent (anicce dukkhasaññā), the perception of non-self in what is suffering (dukkhe anattasaññā), the perception of abandoning (pahānasaññā), the perception of dispassion (virāgasaññā), and the perception of cessation (nirodhasaññā). These, bhikkhus, are the ten perceptions which, when developed and cultivated, are of great fruit and great benefit, merging in the deathless, culminating in the deathless.
