[181] 3. This was said by the Blessed One, said by the Arahant — so I have heard:
"Bhikkhus, abandon one thing (dhamma); I am your guarantor (pāṭibhoga) for non-returning (anāgāmitā). What one thing? Delusion (moha), bhikkhus — abandon this one thing, and I am your guarantor for non-returning."
The Blessed One spoke this meaning (attha). It is in this connection that this was said:
"That delusion whereby deluded beings
go to a bad destination (duggati) —
rightly understanding that delusion,
those who see with insight abandon it;
having abandoned it, they never
come back to this world again."
This meaning, too, was spoken by the Blessed One — so I have heard.
The third.
