[243] 6. This was said by the Blessed One, said by the Arahant, so I have heard:
"Bhikkhus, there are these three kinds of good conduct (sucarita). What three? Good conduct of body (kāyasucarita), good conduct of speech (vacīsucarita), and good conduct of mind (manosucarita). These, bhikkhus, are the three kinds of good conduct."
The Blessed One spoke this meaning. In this connection it is said:
"Having abandoned misconduct of body (kāyaduccarita)
and misdeeds of speech as well,
having abandoned misconduct of mind
and whatever else is tainted with fault (dosasañhita),
having done no unwholesome (akusala)¹ action (kamma),
having done much that is wholesome (kusala),
with the breakup of the body, the wise one
is reborn in heaven (sagga)."
¹ Footnote in the Siam edition: a variant (Po.) reads "saṅkhaṃ na upeti vedagū."
This meaning too was spoken by the Blessed One; so I have heard.
