Kosiyajātaka

Suttapiṭaka · Khuddakanikāya · Jātaka (1) · Vol. 27 · Section 1676

[1676] True is the oblation (huta), and true too is the exertion, of him who, when a guest is seated, does not eat his food alone. Therefore I say to you, Kosiya: give gifts (dāna) and eat as well; ascend the path of the noble ones (ariyamagga) — one who eats alone does not obtain happiness.
