[254] For he swallows a hook with its long line, binding and all, who, when a guest is seated, eats his meal alone. Therefore I say this to you, Kosiya: give gifts (dāna) and eat; ascend the path of the noble ones (ariyamagga) — one who eats alone does not obtain happiness.
