[1006] "I am not terrified, O nāga, nor am I oppressed by the fear of death; one condemned to die would not salute [his executioner], nor would [the executioner] salute the condemned. How indeed could one salute — or have him offer salutation in return — a man whom one wishes to kill? Such a deed is not fitting."
