[1021] "I am not terrified, O nāgī, nor am I stricken by fear of death; one condemned to death should not salute [his slayer], nor should [the slayer] have the condemned salute him. How indeed could [the victim] give salutation, or [the slayer] have him give it, when a man wishes to kill him? Such an act is not fitting."
