[525] **"Thus too, having taken up (a view), they dispute" (evampi viggayha vivādayanti):** having thus grasped, learned, seized, misapprehended (parāmasitvā), and adhered to (abhinivisitvā) it, they dispute — they make quarrels, they make strife, they make contention, they make disputes, they make discord, saying: "You do not understand this Dhamma and Discipline (dhammavinaya) … or extricate yourself, if you are able." Thus too, having taken up (a view), they dispute. [Editorial footnotes of the Siam Raṭṭha edition: (1) The Burmese edition reads *ñāyavādā*; it is to be understood thus everywhere. (2) The Yojanā/PTS-related edition reads *vivādiyanti*; the same throughout.]
