[547] **Even thus, having taken hold, they dispute** (evampi viggayha vivādayantī ti): having grasped, taken up, seized, misapprehended, and adhered to [a view] thus, they dispute — they make quarrels, they make strife, they make contention, they make dispute, they make discord, [saying:] "You do not understand this Dhamma and Discipline (dhammavinaya) … or extricate yourself, if you are able." Thus too, having taken hold, they dispute.
