[649] **They say that each his own opinion is the truth (sakaṃ sakaṃ sammatimāhu saccaṃ):** they say, "The world is eternal … a Tathāgata after death neither exists nor does not exist; this alone is true, anything else is vain" — thus they say that each his own opinion is the truth. Therefore the Blessed One said: For they say their own doctrine (dhamma) is complete, but they say the doctrine of another is inferior; having thus taken up a dispute, they quarrel, each saying his own opinion is the truth.
