[857] **Let there be no impediment (kiñcana) for you afterward** — "afterward" refers to the future. Whatever impediments might arise with reference to volitional formations (saṅkhārā) in the future — the impediment of lust (rāga), the impediment of hatred, the impediment of delusion, the impediment of conceit (māna), the impediment of view (diṭṭhi), the impediment of defilements (kilesa), the impediment of misconduct (duccarita) — let these impediments not be for you: do not make them manifest, do not generate them, do not engender them, do not produce them, do not bring them into being; abandon them, dispel them, put an end to them, bring them to non-existence. Hence, "Let there be no impediment for you afterward."
