[111] "Whoever (yā panā)": whoever, of whatever sort … "Bhikkhunī": … this is the bhikkhunī intended in this context.
"Having asked for one thing (aññaṃ viññāpetvā)": having asked for anything whatsoever.
"Should ask for another (aññaṃ viññāpeyya)": setting that [first thing] aside, she asks for another; in the effort (payoga) there is an offence of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa); upon obtaining it, it becomes subject to forfeiture (nissaggiya). It must be forfeited to a Saṅgha, to a group, or to a single bhikkhunī.
"And thus, Bhikkhus, it should be forfeited: … 'Venerable ladies, this other thing, asked for by me after having asked for one thing, is subject to forfeiture. I forfeit it to the Saṅgha.' … 'may [the Saṅgha] give …' … 'may [the venerable ladies] give …' … 'I give [it] to the venerable lady.'"
