[124] When [a fund] is designated for a particular purpose (aññadatthika), perceiving it as designated for that particular purpose, she has something else procured in exchange: it is to be relinquished, an offense of expiation (nissaggiyaṃ pācittiyaṃ). When it is designated for a particular purpose, being in doubt, she has something else procured in exchange: it is to be relinquished, an offense of expiation. When it is designated for a particular purpose, perceiving it as not designated for a particular purpose, she has something else procured in exchange: it is to be relinquished, an offense of expiation.
Having received back what was relinquished, it should be applied in accordance with the original gift.
When it is not designated for a particular purpose, perceiving it as designated for a particular purpose: an offense of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa). When it is not designated for a particular purpose, being in doubt: an offense of wrong-doing. When it is not designated for a particular purpose, perceiving it as not designated for a particular purpose: no offense.
