[290] **"Whatever" (yā pana)** means: whoever, of whatever sort … . **"Bhikkhunī"** means: … this is the bhikkhunī intended in this context. **"Within the rains" (antovassaṃ)** means: not having stayed through the first three months or the last three months. **"Should set out on wandering"** means: among villages within a cock's flight distance (kukkuṭasampāta) of one another, for every passage between villages there is an offense of pācittiya. In a wilderness without villages, for every half-yojana there is an offense of pācittiya.
