[58] "**Whatever** (*yā pana*)": whoever, of whatever sort … [elision in the Pali]. "**Bhikkhunī**": … [elision in the Pali] this is the bhikkhunī intended in this context.
"**Should speak thus**": she urges her, saying, "What, noble lady, will that man do to you, whether he is filled with lust (avassuta) or not filled with lust, since you are not filled with lust? Come, noble lady, whatever that man gives you, whether hard food or soft food, receive it with your own hand and chew or eat it" — [the one who urges] commits an offense of wrongdoing (dukkaṭa).
If at her word she receives it, thinking, "I shall chew, I shall eat," [the one who urged] commits an offense of wrongdoing.
For every mouthful swallowed, [the one who urged] commits a grave offense (thullaccaya). At the conclusion of the meal, she commits an offense entailing initial and subsequent meetings of the Saṅgha (saṅghādisesa).
"**This one too**": this is said with reference to the previous ones.
"**Entailing an offense at the first act** (*paṭhamāpattika*)": she falls into the offense simultaneously with the transgression of the act, without a formal admonition (samanubhāsanā).
"**Entailing sending away** (*nissāraṇīya*)": she is sent away from the Saṅgha.
"**Saṅghādisesa**": … [elision in the Pali] therefore it is called saṅghādisesa.
She urges [her] to receive water and tooth-wood: an offense of wrongdoing. If at her word she receives it, thinking, "I shall chew, I shall eat," [the one who urged commits] an offense of wrongdoing.
