[294] **"They speak of purity in many a form"** (anekarūpena vadanti suddhinti): by means of blessings (maṅgala) consisting of manifold observances (vatta) and superstitious excitement (kutūhala), they speak of, tell of, utter, explain, and express purity (suddhi), complete purity, full purity; release (mutti), deliverance (vimutti), complete release — therefore it is said, "they speak of purity in many a form."
