[296] **They crossed over birth and aging, dear sir (mārisa):** they crossed over birth, aging, and death; they crossed beyond, crossed onward, fully transcended, and passed beyond it. **Dear sir (mārisa):** this is a term of affection [1]; this word "mārisa" is a designation accompanied by respect and deference. Hence: "They crossed over birth and aging, dear sir."
