[328] **All that is hearsay (itihītihaṃ)**: all that is hearsay — that is, they spoke of a dhamma not directly known (abhiññāta) by themselves, not personally evident to them, [going] by hearsay (itikirā), by lineage of teaching (paramparā), by scriptural collections (piṭakasampadā), on the ground of logic (takkahetu), on the ground of inference (nayahetu), by reasoned reflection (ākāraparivitakka), by acceptance of a view after consideration (diṭṭhinijjhānakkhanti). Therefore, "all that is hearsay."
