[343] **"Extinguished, having seen the Dhamma" (diṭṭhadhammābhinibbutā):** they have seen dhammas, known dhammas, weighed dhammas, judged dhammas, clarified dhammas, and made dhammas evident — [namely:] "All conditioned things (saṅkhārā) are impermanent" … "Whatever is subject to origination, all that is subject to cessation" — thus they have seen dhammas, known dhammas, weighed dhammas, judged dhammas, clarified dhammas, and made dhammas evident.
**"Extinguished" (abhinibbutā):** because lust (rāga) has been extinguished, they are extinguished; because hatred has been extinguished, they are extinguished; because delusion has been extinguished, they are extinguished; because anger (kodha), grudge (upanāha) … all unwholesome volitional formations (akusalābhisaṅkhārā) have been extinguished, they are extinguished. Hence, "extinguished, having seen the Dhamma."
