Suttapiṭaka · Khuddakanikāya · Cūḷaniddesa · Vol. 30 · Section 617

[617] **"O Gotama, distinguished by abundant wisdom" (Gotamā bhūripaññāṇā):** "O Gotama, distinguished by abundant wisdom" — Gotama is distinguished by abundant wisdom, distinguished by knowledge (ñāṇa); he has wisdom as his banner, wisdom as his standard, wisdom as his dominant influence; he abounds in discrimination, abounds in investigation, abounds in clear discernment, is of a nature to discern thoroughly; he dwells with things made lucid; he conducts himself in that, abounds in that, gives weight to that, slopes toward that, inclines toward that, leans toward that, is resolved upon that, has that as his dominant influence. Therefore, "O Gotama, distinguished by abundant wisdom."
