[260] At the moment of the fruition of stream-entry (sotāpattiphala), for the perfect-knowledge faculty (aññindriya), the faith faculty (saddhindriya) is its retinue through resolution (adhimokkha); the energy faculty (vīriyindriya) is its retinue through exertion (paggaha); the mindfulness faculty (satindriya) is its retinue through establishment (upaṭṭhāna); the concentration faculty (samādhindriya) is its retinue through non-distraction; the wisdom faculty (paññindriya) is its retinue through seeing; the mind faculty (manindriya) is its retinue through cognizing; the joy faculty (somanassindriya) is its retinue through delight; the life faculty (jīvitindriya) is its retinue through dominance over the continuity of occurrence. [Note in the Siam edition: "M. reads abhisandanaparivāraṃ; so too below."] The dhammas arisen at the moment of the fruition of stream-entry are all indeterminate (abyākata), except for form originating from mind (citta); all are free from taints (āsava); all are supramundane (lokuttara); all have Nibbāna as their object. At the moment of the fruition of stream-entry, these eight faculties are, for the perfect-knowledge faculty, its co-arisen retinue; they are its mutual retinue; they are its retinue by way of support; they are its retinue by way of association; they are its accompaniments; they are co-arisen with it; they are conjoined with it; they are associated with it. These same [eight faculties] are both its modes and its retinue.
