[261] At the moment of the path of once-returning (sakadāgāmimagga) … at the moment of the fruition of once-returning … at the moment of the path of non-returning … at the moment of the fruition of non-returning …
At the moment of the path of arahantship, the faith faculty (saddhindriya) is the retinue of the perfect-knowledge faculty (aññindriya) in the sense of resolution (adhimokkha) … the life faculty (jīvitindriya) is its retinue in the sense of dominance over the continuity of occurrence. The dhammas born at the moment of the path of arahantship — excepting form originated by mind (citta) — are all wholesome, are all without taints (āsava), are all emancipating, all lead to dismantling, are all supramundane, all have Nibbāna as their object. At the moment of the path of arahantship, these eight faculties are the co-arisen retinue of the perfect-knowledge faculty; they are its mutual retinue; they are its retinue by way of support; they are its retinue by way of association; they are accompanying it, co-arisen with it, conjoined with it, associated with it. Those very states are both its modes and its retinue.
