[448] By way of the wisdom faculty (paññindriya) in the four noble truths (ariyasacca), by which twenty modes (ākāra) should the conduct (cariyā) of the five faculties (indriya) be seen?
In the noble truth of suffering (dukkha), the conduct of the wisdom faculty should be seen in the sense of dominance in seeing (dassanādhipateyya); by way of the wisdom faculty, the conduct of the faith faculty (saddhindriya) should be seen in the sense of resolution (adhimokkha); the conduct of the energy faculty (vīriyindriya) should be seen in the sense of exertion (paggaha); the conduct of the mindfulness faculty (satindriya) should be seen in the sense of establishment (upaṭṭhāna); the conduct of the concentration faculty (samādhindriya) should be seen in the sense of non-distraction (avikkhepa). In the noble truth of the origin of suffering … In the noble truth of the cessation of suffering, in the noble truth of the way of practice leading to the cessation of suffering, the conduct of the wisdom faculty should be seen in the sense of dominance in seeing; by way of the wisdom faculty, the conduct of the faith faculty should be seen in the sense of resolution; the conduct of the energy faculty should be seen in the sense of exertion; the conduct of the mindfulness faculty should be seen in the sense of establishment; the conduct of the concentration faculty should be seen in the sense of non-distraction.
By way of the wisdom faculty in the four noble truths, the conduct of the five faculties should be seen by these twenty modes.
