[247] I was the guardian of the hut (kuṭi) of the Blessed One Siddhattha;
from time to time, full of confidence, I censed it with incense with my own hands.
In the ninety-fourth aeon (kappa) from this one, the deed (kamma) that I did then —
I know of no bad destination (duggati): this is the fruit of the gift of incense (dhūpadāna).²

The four analytical insights (paṭisambhidā), and also these eight liberations (vimokkha),
the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching has been fulfilled.
Thus indeed did the Venerable Kuṭidhūpaka the Elder speak these verses.
