On the mountain Himavant,
I, wearing a rough antelope hide (kharājina),
saw Phussa, the excellent Conqueror (jinavara),
and, with fruit in hand, I gave him fruit.
The fruit that I gave
with a clear and confident mind —
whenever I am reborn in an existence,
fruit is produced for me.
In the ninety-second aeon (kappa) from now,
when I gave that fruit,
I know of no bad destination (duggati):
this is the fruit of the gift of fruit.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā),
and also these eight liberations (vimokkha),
the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized:
the Buddha's teaching (sāsana) has been done.
Thus indeed the Venerable Phaladāyaka the Elder spoke these verses.
