[165] Formerly I gave fruit to the Blessed One Tissa;
and I presented a coconut, esteemed as chewable food (khajjaka).
Having given that to the Buddha, to Tissa the Great Seer (mahesi),
rejoicing, desiring what pleasures I wished, I was reborn according to my desire.
It was in the ninety-second aeon (kappa) from this one that I gave that gift;
I know of no bad destination (duggati) — this is the fruit of the gift of fruit.
In the thirteenth aeon from this one there was a king the equal of Inda (indasama),
endowed with the seven treasures (sattaratana), a universal monarch (cakkavatti) of great might.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), these eight liberations (vimokkha) too,
and the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching has been fulfilled.
Thus indeed did the Venerable Khajjadāyaka the Elder speak these verses.
