[405] Which, on that occasion, is applied thought (vitakka)? That which on that occasion is thinking (takka), applied thinking (vitakka), intention (saṅkappa), fixing (appanā), firm fixing (byappanā), the directing of the mind (cetaso abhiniropanā) — this, on that occasion, is applied thought.
