[372] What at that time is applied thought (vitakka)? The thinking (takka), applied thinking (vitakka), intention (saṅkappa), fixing (appanā), firm fixing (byappanā), directing of the mind (cetaso abhiniropanā) that there is at that time — this at that time is applied thought.
