[430] Which phenomena (dhammā) are indeterminate (abyākata)?
On the occasion when one develops supramundane jhāna (lokuttaraṃ jhānaṃ) — which leads out (niyyānika), which conduces to dismantling (apacayagāmī) — for the abandoning of views (diṭṭhigata), for the attainment of the first plane (bhūmi): with the subsiding of thought-conception (vitakka) and discursive thought (vicāra) … the second jhāna … the third jhāna … the fourth jhāna … the first jhāna … one enters upon and dwells in the fifth jhāna: [as] 'emptiness (suññata)' — wholesome (kusala) … [as] 'emptiness' — resultant (vipāka) … [as] 'emptiness' — wholesome … [as] 'signless (animitta)' — resultant … [as] 'emptiness' — wholesome … [as] 'undirected (appaṇihita)' — resultant: on that occasion there is contact (phassa) … there is non-distraction (avikkhepa) …
