[463] Which phenomena (dhammā) are indeterminate (abyākata)?
On the occasion when one develops the supramundane (lokuttara) jhāna — leading out [of the round] (niyyānika), tending to dismantling (apacayagāmī) — for the abandonment of views (diṭṭhigata), for the attainment of the first stage (bhūmi): with the stilling of thought-conception (vitakka) and discursive thought (vicāra) … the second jhāna … the third jhāna … the fourth jhāna … the first jhāna … one attains and dwells in the fifth jhāna, undirected (appaṇihita), with zeal as the dominant influence (chandādhipateyya) — this is wholesome (kusala) … undirected, with zeal as the dominant influence — this is the resultant (vipāka) … undirected, with zeal as the dominant influence — this is wholesome … signless (animitta), with zeal as the dominant influence — this is the resultant … undirected, with zeal as the dominant influence — this is wholesome … empty (suññata), with zeal as the dominant influence — this is the resultant — on that occasion there is contact (phassa) … there is non-distraction (avikkhepa) …
These phenomena are indeterminate.
