[555] Which is that form (rūpa) that is the base (vatthu) of eye-contact (cakkhusamphassa)? The eye sense base (cakkhāyatana) — this is that form that is the base of eye-contact. Which is that form that is not the base of eye-contact? The ear sense base (sotāyatana) … edible nutriment (kabaḷīkāra āhāra) — this is that form that is not the base of eye-contact.
