[967] Which phenomena (dhammā) are both defilements (kilesa) and defiled (saṅkiliṭṭha)?
Those very defilements are both defilements and defiled.
Which phenomena are defiled but not defilements?
Setting aside the defilements, the remaining unwholesome (akusala) — these phenomena are defiled but not defilements.
Undefiled phenomena should not be said to be either "both defilements and defiled" or "defiled but not defilements."
