Which phenomena are associated with defilements but not defilements? Setting aside the defilements, the remaining unwholesome (akusala) — these phenomena are associated with defilements but not defilements.
Phenomena dissociated from defilements (kilesavippayutta) are not to be said to be either "both defilements and associated with defilements" or "associated with defilements but not defilements."
