[986] Which phenomena (dhammā) are surpassable (sa-uttara)? The wholesome in the three planes (bhūmi), the unwholesome, the resultant (vipāka) in the three planes, the functional indeterminate (kiriyā-abyākata) in the three planes, and all form (rūpa) — these phenomena are surpassable.
Which phenomena are unsurpassable (anuttara)? The four paths (magga) that are not included (apariyāpanna) [in the three planes], the four fruits of the monkhood (sāmañña-phala), and Nibbāna — these phenomena are unsurpassable.
