[185] Therein, what is suffering (dukkha)? The remaining unwholesome phenomena (dhammā); the three wholesome roots (kusala-mūla) that are subject to taints (sāsava); the remaining wholesome phenomena that are subject to taints; the results (vipāka), subject to taints, of wholesome and unwholesome phenomena; those phenomena that are functional (kiriyā), neither wholesome nor unwholesome and not results of kamma; and all form — this is called suffering.
