[212] Therein, what is the cessation of suffering (dukkha-nirodha)? The abandonment (pahāna) of craving (taṇhā), of the remaining defilements (kilesa), of the remaining unwholesome phenomena (dhammā), of the three wholesome roots (kusala-mūla) that are subject to taints (sāsava), and of the remaining wholesome phenomena that are subject to taints — this is called the cessation of suffering.
