[329] Therein, what is the formation (saṅkhāra) that has ignorance (avijjā) as its condition (paccaya)? That which is volition (cetanā), intention, the state of intending — this is called the formation that has ignorance as its condition. Therein, what is the ignorance that also has formation as its condition? That which is unknowing (aññāṇa), unseeing (adassana), … the bolt of ignorance (avijjālaṅgī), delusion (moha), the unwholesome root (akusalamūla) — this is called the ignorance that also has formation as its condition.
