[459] And how does a bhikkhu dwell contemplating the body in the body?
Here a bhikkhu, on the occasion when he develops supramundane jhāna (lokuttaraṃ jhānaṃ) — leading out [of the round] (niyyānika), tending to the dismantling [of existence] (apacayagāmī) — for the abandoning of wrong views (diṭṭhigata), for the attainment of the first stage (paṭhamā bhūmi), quite secluded from sensual pleasures … enters and dwells in the first jhāna, of painful practice and sluggish direct knowledge (dukkhāpaṭipadaṃ dandhābhiññaṃ), contemplating the body in the body: whatever mindfulness (sati), recollection (anussati), … right mindfulness (sammāsati), mindfulness factor of awakening (satisambojjhaṅga) — a path factor, included in the path — there is on that occasion, this is called the establishment of mindfulness (satipaṭṭhāna). The remaining phenomena (dhammā) are associated with the establishment of mindfulness.
And how does a bhikkhu dwell contemplating feelings in feelings (vedanā)?
