[462] The four establishments of mindfulness (satipaṭṭhāna): Here a bhikkhu dwells contemplating the body in the body, ardent, clearly comprehending, mindful, having removed covetousness and grief regarding the world; he dwells contemplating feelings (vedanā) in feelings, ardent, clearly comprehending, mindful, having removed covetousness and grief regarding the world; he dwells contemplating the mind (citta) in the mind, ardent, clearly comprehending, mindful, having removed covetousness and grief regarding the world; he dwells contemplating dhammas in dhammas, ardent, clearly comprehending, mindful, having removed covetousness and grief regarding the world. Of the four establishments of mindfulness, how many are wholesome? How many are unwholesome? How many are indeterminate? … How many are with conflict? How many are without conflict?
