[72] The aggregate of volitional formations (saṅkhārakkhandha) is thirtyfold: the aggregate of volitional formations with eye-contact (cakkhusamphassa) as condition (paccaya) — there is that of the sense sphere (kāmāvacara); there is that of the form sphere (rūpāvacara); there is that of the formless sphere (arūpāvacara); there is the unincluded (apariyāpanna). With ear-contact as condition … with nose-contact as condition … with tongue-contact as condition … with body-contact as condition … the aggregate of volitional formations with mind-contact as condition — there is that of the sense sphere; there is that of the form sphere; there is that of the formless sphere; there is the unincluded. Volition (cetanā) born of eye-contact … volition born of mind-contact. Thus the aggregate of volitional formations is thirtyfold.
